Fourth Graders – This fall we will be allowing fourth graders to play on both fall teams.  Volleyball will be opened up to the fourth grade girls and the soccer team will be opened up to the fourth grade boys.  This allows the fourth graders an extra year to get experience and to help the school field a team.  Please understand that playing time for fourth graders will be based on readiness and the amount of players on the team. 

Volleyball – Practice for the Girls’ JV Volleyball team (grades 4th-6th) will begin on September 8th from 4:00 until 5:30.  Any girl interested in playing volleyball will need a pair of kneepads and a pair of the black Peace gym shorts.  You should be able to find a pair of kneepads at Target, Meijer, Dicks, Dunhams, or the like.  If you do not have a pair of black Peace shorts you can purchase them the night of the orientation meeting on the 31st.  Please note that on Thursday, September 9th we will be having a mandatory parents’ meeting after practice.  This is an important meeting and we ask that one parent is present at the meeting.

Soccer – Practice for the Soccer team (boys in grades 4th-8th and girls in 7th and 8th) will begin on September 8th from 4:00 until 5:30.  Any student interested in playing soccer will need appropriate soccer gear (cleats and shin guards) as well as a pair of black Peace gym shorts and a pair of Peace soccer socks.  If you need a pair of the Peace gym shorts you can purchase them at the orientation meeting on the 31st.  Anyone who needs a pair of the Peace soccer socks can purchase them (cost is $6 a pair) at the parents’ meeting on Thursday, September 9th.  We will be holding a mandatory parents’ meeting after practice on September 9th.  It is important that one parent is present at the meeting.  If anyone is interested in helping Mr. Szeliga coach this team, please let us know through the school office or email.

Signups – Please take time to talk about whether or not your child would like to participate in a fall sport.  It is important that we get an idea of who is definitely playing each sport so that we can be prepared with enough equipment.  We will have sign-up sheets at the orientation meeting on August 31st, and would ask that students who know that they will be participating to sign up at that time.
